I’ve spent more than 10 years working across UX/UI, websites, visual design and development.
During my time with BuildUp Bookings, I worked on several branding, graphic design, and website development projects. The work I was most excited about, however, was when I was given the opportunity to help refresh the company’s brand and contribute to the development of its website.
I started in graphic design, but my interest in how things work eventually led me to websites, interfaces and product design. Somewhere along the way, I realized I enjoyed solving the problem behind the design just as much as designing it.
I enjoy taking an idea and helping turn it into something clear and useful.
Depending on the project, that might mean mapping out a user flow, designing an interface, building a website, creating visual assets or working with developers to bring the design to life.
I care about how things look, but I also think about how they work and how they will eventually be built.
My background spans product, web and visual design, with some hands-on experience in development and implementation.
I don’t see these as completely separate worlds. In many projects, they overlap.
Understanding different parts of the process helps me ask better questions, work with different teams and see how one decision can affect another.
I began in graphic design and eventually moved into bigger projects where I worked more closely with clients, stakeholders and development teams.
My first proper UX/UI project introduced me to research, brainstorming and interface design. I enjoyed it enough that it changed the direction of my career.
Since then, I’ve continued building on that experience while keeping the broader skills that got me here.
I’ve had a broad career and plenty of interests. But the common thread has always been the same: I enjoy understanding things, improving them and bringing ideas to life.
Whether it’s a brand, a website or a product, I like the part where different pieces start coming together.
And honestly, that’s probably why I still enjoy doing this after all these years.
